Tim Burton is a director, producer and screenwriter. After majoring in animation at the California Institute of Arts, he got his start in the business by working as a Disney animator.
Early Life and Career
Timothy read Edgar Allan Poe and visited the cinema, where he mostly watched science fiction and horror movies.
A municipal cemetery was not far from the Burton house. There were also offices of the Walt Disney studios, Columbia Pictures and Warner Brothers in the neighborhood with Tim's house. It can be said that this was the allegorical "picture" of all further creation of the director who created Edward Scissorhands.
The Burton family seemed a happy one, as besides Tim, there was the younger son and his parents had a good stable income, but the boy was alone and isolated. He did not like noisy companies. He spent time in his room, where windows for some reason were walled up and turned into narrow slots.
While in Burbank high school, Tim didn't like math or science or really anything that didn't have anything to do with art. He would create stop-motion films in his pre-teen years the oldest one still surviving is The Island of Doctor Agnor which he made at the age at 13.

Alice in wonderland
2010
He doesn't see this as a sequel to previous films or a re-imagining. It premiered in London at the Odeon Leicester Square on February 25, 2010.

It was released in Australia and New Zealand on March 4, 2010, and in the United Kingdom and the United States on March 5 through Walt Disney Pictures in Disney Digital 3-D and IMAX 3-D, as well as in regular theaters.
It is a live-action extension to the Lewis Carroll novels Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass. The film uses a technique of combining live-action and CGI animation.
In the film, Alice is now 19 years old and goes back to Underland, a place she previously visited 13 years ago. She is told that she is the only one that can slay the Jabberwocky, a dragon controlled by the Red Queen.

Burton said the original Wonderland story was always about a girl wandering around from one character to another and she never felt a connection emotionally, so he wanted to make it feel more like a story than a series of events.
Helena Bonham Carter plays the tyrannical Red Queen Iracebeth, who has taken control of Wonderland in Disney's "Alice in Wonderland" movie.

The Queen's big head is both literal and figurative, and her red hair is fitting as well, considering her temper. A ticking time bomb ready to go off on a tantrum at the slightest annoyance, the Red Queen is determined to rule Underland, wearing the crown she stole from her sister, the White Queen.
Red Queen
Johnny Depp plays the whimsical, strange and absolutely crazy Mad Hatter in Disney's "Alice in Wonderland" movie. As Alice's true friend, the Mad Hatter has been awaiting her return.

He will do anything to set things right in wonderland again, but he literally is mad -- an effect of the mercury poisoning that is a side effect of the hat-making process.
Mad Hatter
Mia Wasikowska plays Alice, who returns to the Wonderland (actually Underland) world she once visited as a young girl in Disney's "Alice in Wonderland" movie.

Alice has no recollection of her previous adventure in the place she once knew as Wonderland, but she does find herself falling down the rabbit hole once again, allowing her to escape her world – where she feels trapped by society and a less than exciting marriage proposal – and figure out what she really wants.
Alice Kingsleigh
Mirana of Marmoreal, also known as the White Queen, is a fictional character from the novel Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There by Lewis Carroll.

She is based upon the chess piece of the same name and appears as the tritagonist of Tim Burton's 2010 movie Alice in Wonderland and the deuteragonist of its sequel, Alice Through the Looking Glass. She is also the younger sister of the Red Queen.
White Queen

Tim Burton’s quotes
He says his own films are "all my strange children in some way", and that they're all imperfect. "The flaws of a film are part of what it is. I've never made a film that is even nearly perfect. I have different feelings towards different films.
I just do what I do, and I'm hoping that people will enjoy it. If they don't, then I'll go and do something else." (Source: Collider)

"I've always felt like an outsider. I think that's why I've been drawn to telling stories about characters who are also outsiders." (Source: The Guardian)

"I've always been drawn to the more melancholy side of things." (Source: The New York Times)
